What is the House Advantage in Craps?

Good bets are those who have relatively very low in house built advantage and bad bets are those who have high in house built advantage. Question which rises in mind is to follow which crap and consider it’s good or bad bet for the player?

Craps advantageThere are number of craps bets along with their advantages for house. These are summarized below. It’s like house advantages of around 2% or less than that can be termed as good bets where as bets which have house advantage more than 4% can be termed as bad bets.

The short form of House Advantage is “HA”.

Don’t Pass (including single Odds), HA of 0.69% = considered as bet which is “Good”

Pass Line and Come (including single Odds), HA of 0.85% = considered as bet which is “Good”

Don't Pass and Don't Come, HA of 1.40% = considered as bet which is “Good”

Pass Line and Come, HA of 1.41% = considered as bet which is “Good”

Place number 6 or number 8, HA of 1.52% = considered as bet which is “Good”

Buy number 4 or number10 (pay on win), HA of 1.64% = considered as bet which is “Good”.

Lay number 4 or number 10 (pay on win), HA of 1.64% = considered as bet which is “Good”

Buy number 5 or number 9 (pay on win), HA of 1.96% = considered as bet which is “Good”

Lay number 5 or number 9 (pay on win), HA of 1.96% = considered as bet which is “Good”

Buy number 6 or number 8 (pay on win), HA of 2.22% = considered as bet which is “Maybe”

Buy number 4 or number 10 (pay up front), HA of 4.76% = considered as bet which is “Bad”

Buy number 5 or number 9 (pay up front), HA of 4.76% = considered as bet which is “Bad”

Hardway 6 or 8, HA of 9.09% = considered as bet which is “Bad”

Any Craps, HA of 11.11% = considered as bet which is “Terrible”

Horn bet 3 or 11 horn bets, HA of 11.11% = considered as bet which is “Terrible”

C & E, HA of 11.11% = considered as bet which is “Terrible”

Hardway 4 or 10, HA of 11.11% = considered as bet which is “Terrible”

Horn bet 2 or 12, HA of 13.89% = considered as bet which is “Terrible”

Any 7, HA of 16.67% = considered as bet which is “Terrible." This is actually the worst bet odds offered in craps. You are paid 4 to 1 odds on a win, but you only have a 1 in 6 chance of rolling a seven.

The fact is whether it’s a good or bad bet; it’s for sure taking over your time. You should always give chance to yourself for best play and win the game by making bets which have lowest built in house advantage.
